I've been drawing my 'Hulk vs Death's Head' battle so that it fits into both characters official continuity. Do you like to think that this particular battle actually happened at one point in Marvel history?

The good, the bad and the downright painful!!

Hey guys and gals,

Hope all is good with you. Sorry I haven't been on for awhile... things have been hectic here in the land of Soulmania, both good and bad.

Just a quick word about this years Auto Assembly Transformers convention, which was held in Birmingham last month. What an absolutely fantastic weekend!! I was there along with my partners in superheroics Jason Cardy and Kat Nicholson. It was great to catch up with fellow guests, such as Mike Collins, Liam Shalloo, Kris Carter, Lee Bradley, Andrew Wildman, Lee Sullivan, and Lew Stringer. It was also awesome to finally meet Nick Roche as well... Nick of course is the ultra talented and popular artist on many of IDW's TRANSFORMERS comics, and is a really nice guy.
Of course, it goes without saying that the highlight of the weekend to many in attendance was meeting the awesome Gregg Berger. Gregg is better known to Transformers fandom as the voice of Grimlock from the classic TRANSFORMERS cartoon. I have to say that Gregg is one of the nicest people you could ever wish to meet, and is an absolute star.
I also had the pleasure of participating in a script reading (written by none other than SIMON FURMAN!) along with Gregg, Nick, and TRANSFORMERS: BEAST WARS actor Ian James Corlett... who is the voice of Cheetor from the popular show. This was another highlight for me... and BIG hats off to the other guys who joined us on stage, and provided AWESOME voices for the script! Thanks to EVERYONE who made this weekend one of the best of my life... from the fellow guests, organisers to everyone who came up and said hello. You're ALL stars :)

After such an awesome time at AA, things could only really go downhill. I came down with a very nasty kidney infection... which has been my third one in a space of a few years. As a result I have to have some tests done, as my doctor is a little concerned about it. There is a history of kidney problems in my family, and am just hoping it hasn't been passed on to me. Of course, I shall keep you all posted when I know more. On that note, I just have to give a shout out to Jason Cardy and Kat Nicholson, who were absolute life-savers whilst I wasn't feeling well. Love ya both... you guys are the BEST. :)

To add to that, I found out last friday that I had lost my job, which was working on Clear Vision's UK line of Marvel DVDs. Worst thing was, I found out via a fellow artists facebook status (yep, that same artist now has the gig). Now I don't blame that artist in the slightest... he's a very talented fellow, and I wish him the best of luck. However, I'd be lieing if I said I was happy about the situation. It's never nice to lose your job... especially to find out that way!

But.. onwards and upwards. You can't keep a good artist down... and I found out today that I have got some more comic work coming VERY soon! Can't say too much right now, but will definitely keep you posted! let's just say it was MARVELLOUS news ;)

Anyways, hope all is good with you guys... thanks to everyone who has stopped by my page, added a fave or left a comment. I appreciate every one of you... one of these days, I'll get around to replying to some of you as well!

Best wishes,

Simon

:iconthedeviantmakepeace:
Most deserved. You've been able to take those classic Sal Buscema Hulk poses yet give the big guy a more rounded, John Buscema feel. Wish you were doing the regular Hulk book. Or, at least the Marvel Adventures version.
